Dr_Thorpe.JPGDr. Bob Thorpe

Dr. Bob Thorpe (Dr. Bob ) grew up in Hopkinsville, Kentucky where he was valedictorian of his graduating class.  He attended Georgia Tech where he was a member of the football team, Sigma Nu Fraternity, and graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering.  He spent five years working in this field.  During this time he became involved with wild bird rehabilitation and became interested in Veterinary Medicine.  He attended the 2nd class at the University of Tennessee and after working in North Dakota and Kentucky he purchased Crestview Animal Hospital and made the move to Greeneville.

While he started out as both a large and small animal practitioner, the demands of a solo practice (and the onset of allergies to cattle) led him to give up the large animal practice.
Now he concentrates on small animals - dogs, cats, and exotics.  The clinic often sees injured wildlife  brought in for care.  His  family of  personal pets include 2 Cavaliers, a Cavachon, multiple cats at work and two parrots, a Scarlet Macaw and Blue Front Amazon.

Offering quality care to pets is still a priority for Dr. Bob, but he finds time for outside activities as well.  He has always been active in the community and is a Past President  of  both Kiwanis  and the Jaycees, current board member of Kiwanis, Past Chairman of the United Way, worked extensively with the animal shelter in it's early years, worked several years with Feral Friends, and is a recipient of Tennessee's Outstanding Young Man Award. He and his wife are members of First Presbyterian Church in Greeneville.

Dr. Bob has 3 children, 3 stepchildren, and five grandchildren. He and his wife Christine are known for their award winning rose gardens and  their love of dancing.

Dr. Morrell was raised in a military family and has lived literally from coast to coast.  She completed her undergraduate studies at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina where she met her husband John, a native of Greeneville.  Upon graduation Beth attended The Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Morrell and her husband moved back to Greeneville where she began practicing small animal medicine.  They have lived here since 1990.

After practicing full time for 13 years Beth made the decision to become a relief veterinarian in order to have more time to spend with her two children.  She became a part time associate of Crestview Animal Hospital in 2009.

Dr. Morrell and her family live on a farm raising Chi-Angus cattle, 2 dogs, a house-cat and a hermit crab named Hermie.

Beth's love of animals is followed closely by her love of the theatre.  She has been involved in several local productions as an actress, on the stage crew and as prop mistress.

Dr. Morrell has served as Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Glenwood Elementary PTA and tutored there as well.  She is currently serving as treasurer of the Greeneville High School Chorus Boosters and enjoys volunteering with their activities.

Being and active member of Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church keeps Beth focused on her purpose in life.  She is an ordained elder who has served multiple terms on the session, volunteers regularly with the youth group, teaches Sunday school, is a member of the choir and serves as Secretary to the Timber Ridge Presbyterian Women.

When she is alone, which is rare, Beth enjoys reading, playing the piano and the banjo.
